WebGL is a new technology which allows the browser to run code straight on the graphics card. The advantage is that the large computational power of a graphics card is available to web pages in the browser. The drawback is that WebGL is only available in a browser which runs on a system with a graphics card. Another hindrance is that currently not all browsers support WebGL even if the system has a graphics card installed. The games on this site will only run if WebGL is enabled, floating point textures are supported and floating point textures can be rendered into. Check WebGL tests for the state of the current browser.
